Our Core Capabilities

Biometrics

SharpSwitch utilizes multi-modal techniques to collect and analyze biometrics whether fingerprint, iris, facial recognition or any combination of them. SharpSwitch is compliant with all DoD, DOJ, and NIST regulations for biometric collection hardware. SharpSwitch’s global experience enables the team to approach sensitive cultural and human issues that are critical to a successful biometric solution.

Identity Management

SharpSwitch adheres to DISA Enterprise and NIST specifications in order to design identity management capabilities to authenticate authorized individuals with a high degree of certainty. This allows verified individuals to gain access to resources while reducing risk, improving security posture, and enhancing client organizational efficiency.

Physical Access Control

SharpSwitch has been primarily responsible for building physical and logical access control systems for the DoD and its subsidiary services, agencies, and components. The company manages Software Development, Network Engineering, System Administration, and Information Assurance for the most widely used Access Control System in the Department of Defense.

Our Background

Richard Roemer founded SharpSwitch and incorporated it in 2012. Mr. Roemer was a 1099 independent consultant to a contracting company working for the Department of Defense. Through the connections he made with contractors and customers on-site, he saw an opportunity to expand from a single consultant into a corporation and bring other consultants on board to help the government fulfill their mission more efficiently. Since then, SharpSwitch has provided Information Technology Professional Services to public and private sector clients.
